Fly Your Flag
‘Fly your Flag’ was an exhibition of flags created by young asylum seekers and refugees living across London.
In a series of creative workshops throughout 2018, over 150 young migrants worked with Kazzum Arts’ team of artists and facilitators to create a series of 8 designs, alongside volunteers and professionals from 5 of London’s leading refugee organisations.
Young people were encouraged to explore collaborative art making processes including drawing, painting, movement, photography and printmaking. Together we explored our self-expression through games and discussion, developing friendships and English language skills whilst exploring relationships between colour, shape, emotions, values and identity.
The flags proudly show the spirit and determination of young migrants to unite in hope and friendship, embodying the strength to change negative perceptions and work towards a future characterised by fun, peace and a shared vision of love.
